Thank You BBQ Volunteers!

Our 4th of July barbecue event was a huge success, with 160 tickets sold! That’s a lot of burgers and hot dogs! It was hot and humid, and storms were predicted, so we set up our food service indoors where many residents decided to sit in the air conditioning. Many others remained outside to enjoy the pool as the weather held out until after 4PM.
Thank you to our amazing social committee members, Maureen Benesch, Diane Steensen, Linda Parlock, Rose Szpara, Sandy Hamaydi, Tony Bruzaitis and Karen Angelo for their hard work organizing and working at this event. Thanks to our grillmasters, Bill Hamaydi, Bill Carberry, Michael Wiggins, and Phil DeCarlo; and to the Mens Club for lending their grill. Thank you to volunteers Jan Mickelsen, Sandy Laurie, and Susan D'Onofrio for serving food and helping with cleanup; and Marie Thomas, Tia Katakozinos and Paul Kiczek for filling in where needed. Thanks to Marcene Talty for the taco salad and Barbara Skelly for the sauerkraut, and to the always helpful Tom Behrens for coming to the rescue with keys and temperature control. Also a big thank you to Tommy Gannon and Vinny (sorry I didn’t get his last name) for the live music surprise!
Our next planned event will be a Halloween Party on October 28 so please save the date.
